Choose a size that fits your wall and vanity
Start with your vanity width, then measure the clear wall space. A mirror slightly narrower than the vanity can leave a visible border; matching the vanity width can also work on an open wall. Neither is a universal rule. Nearby walls, cabinets, windows, faucets and lights should guide your choice.
Measure before choosing a model
- Measure the usable wall width between obstructions.
- Measure the height above your faucet or backsplash and below any light, shelf or cabinet.
- Check that cabinet doors can open and that the mirror will not cover outlets or interfere with fixtures.
- Mark the mirror outline with painter’s tape to preview the proportions.
Leave visible wall space where you want to see the backlit glow. This is a design consideration, not a minimum installation clearance. Follow the manual for your selected model.
Use vanity width as a starting point
For a 24-inch vanity, consider roughly 20–24 inches of mirror width; for a 30-inch vanity, 24–30 inches; for a 36-inch vanity, 28–36 inches; and for a 48-inch vanity, 40–48 inches. These are design starting points, not a list of Gloviea sizes or installation requirements. Check the actual dimensions offered on the product page.
Confirm width, height and orientation
Dimensions are in inches. A 24 × 36-inch mirror is 24 inches wide and 36 inches high when mounted vertically. If the model supports horizontal mounting, rotating it makes it 36 inches wide and 24 inches high.
Rectangular mounting options vary by model. Oval mirrors support vertical or horizontal mounting. Round, arched and semi-circle models mount in their intended upright orientation. Confirm the brackets, controls and electrical connection position in the product manual before planning installation.
One mirror or two for a double vanity?
Compare one wide mirror with two mirrors centered above the sinks. For two mirrors, account for the space between them and any central light or cabinet. Check each mirror’s outline against the actual sink positions, rather than dividing the vanity width alone.
Choosing a Mirror Shape for Your Bathroom
Shape affects both the look of your bathroom and how the mirror fits your space. Start with your measurements, then consider the proportions and details below.
Rectangular mirrors — clean lines and broad coverage
A rectangular mirror complements the straight lines of a vanity or tiled wall. A wide model can provide a continuous reflection across a larger vanity. For a double vanity, compare one wide mirror with two separate mirrors centred above the sinks.
Round mirrors — a softer visual balance
A round mirror introduces curves to a bathroom with angular cabinets and tiles. Its diameter determines both its overall width and height, so check both measurements. The curved edges provide less reflection near the corners than a rectangular mirror of the same overall dimensions.
Oval mirrors — an elegant, elongated shape
An oval mirror combines soft curves with a taller silhouette when installed vertically. It can add a decorative focal point above a single sink, or create a coordinated pair above a double vanity. Check the available height between the faucet and any overhead light, as well as the width around side lighting or cabinets.
Arched mirrors — a distinctive architectural detail
An arched mirror combines straight sides with a curved top, adding character to a simple vanity wall. It can also echo curved details elsewhere in the room. Measure to the highest point of the arch and check its relationship with any light above it; the curved upper corners provide less reflective area than a rectangle of the same overall size.
Before ordering, confirm the selected model’s dimensions and permitted mounting orientation. For two mirrors, check sink alignment, the gap between them, and the position of nearby lights.
Finish with lighting and features
Choose Backlit for an ambient glow behind the mirror, or Front Glow + Backlit for an illuminated frosted border as well. Compare brightness controls, color temperatures, anti-fog and motion sensing on the selected product. A lighted mirror may still need additional room or task lighting.
Once you have the right proportions, compare the available shapes below and select your preferred size on the product page.
